Job summary

Rivian is seeking a leader for the Electrical Systems Validation Test team responsible for system-level testing on lab cars and Hardware Validation Build vehicles. You will guide test planning, execution, data review, and issue closure while ensuring readiness and configuration is maintained for hardware and software platforms.

You will lead a high-performing team with deep electrical systems expertise, driving data-driven decisions and cross-functional alignment across vehicle programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical system design, integration, validation, or testing, including leading teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers/technicians and driving performance.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and vehicle-level electrical systems.
• Ability to lead validation programs with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience developing validation strategies, test plans, procedures, and metrics for complex hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of electrical systems validation test engineers and technicians; clarify expectations and support growth.
• Build and manage validation strategy, staffing plans, schedules, and execution processes.
• Lead system-level testing on lab cars and hardware validation build vehicles.
• Translate requirements into validation plans, test methods, and criteria.
• Develop and execute test procedures for power distribution, network, sensors, diagnostics, and related vehicle functions.
• Review test results and drive issue tracking, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Manage hardware/software configuration, readiness, changes, and issue status on labcars/build vehicles.
• Plan hardware/software changes with development and vehicle operations teams to protect test execution.
• Lead projects involving diverse stakeholders and communicate progress and risks.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, data quality, and team efficiency.
• Participate in recruiting and build team capabilities.
