Job summary

Rivian in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced electrical systems engineer to support in-market vehicle programs through design, validation, and issue resolution. You will partner with manufacturing, validation, service, suppliers, and program teams to investigate field and production issues and verify corrective actions.

The role requires strong engineering judgment, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to drive from issue identification to validated solutions that improve vehicle quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and testing hardware/software systems.
• Experience supporting late-stage products through issue investigation and design changes.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis in vehicle environments.
• Excellent communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate electrical system issues in manufacturing or field operations.
• Develop and implement design changes to improve quality and reliability.
• Create and execute test plans for hardware and system changes.
• Troubleshoot vehicles and test assets; perform hands-on debugging.
• Collaborate with validation, manufacturing, service, supply chain, and program teams to close issues.
• Prioritize sustaining activities across multiple programs balancing timing and risk.
• Drive improvements in test methods, failure analysis, and action processes.
