Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Systems Integration Technician to support development and validation of advanced EV systems in Palo Alto. You will build test environments, validate hardware/software integration, and troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with hardware and software engineers.

The role requires familiarity with Linux and Python to execute commands, review logs, and assist debugging.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting vehicle testing, electrical integration, prototype development, or laboratory environments.
• Experience using vehicle communication and diagnostic tools such as Vector, CANalyzer, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, Intrepid, or equivalent.
• Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and automotive communication networks.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.
• Familiarity with Python for reading scripts, log files, and troubleshooting workflows.
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Support the build, setup, and maintenance of HIL racks, test benches, and prototype development platforms.
• Perform system validation and basic functional testing of electrical and software-integrated systems.
• Flash software onto vehicle modules and test hardware platforms.
• Assist engineering teams with troubleshooting electrical, network, and integration-related issues.
• Utilize vehicle network analysis tools to monitor and validate system communications.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and network layouts to support testing activities.
• Execute Linux command-line operations and review system logs to identify faults and error conditions.
• Work alongside software and hardware engineers to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve system issues.
• Track testing activities, issues, and validation results using Jira and related tools.
• Support vehicle prototype builds and developmental testing activities.

The Electrical Systems Integration Technician will support the development and validation of advanced electric vehicle systems by building test environments, supporting software integration activities, and troubleshooting system issues. This role serves as a bridge between hardware and software teams, helping ensure systems function properly through hands-on testing and validation activities.

The ideal candidate understands both the electrical hardware and software environments and is comfortable working with engineers to build, configure, and validate development and test platforms. While this role does not involve software development, candidates should have enough familiarity with Linux and Python environments to execute commands, review logs, interpret errors, and support debugging efforts.
