Job summary

Joby Aviation in Marina, CA seeks an Electrical Systems Integration Manufacturing Engineer to advance prototype hardware toward scalable production. You will define harness manufacturing, develop tools, and guide integration with manufacturing teams to meet quality goals.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Manufacturing/Aerospace engineering with 5+ years of experience, hands-on shop-floor activity, and strong CAD skills (CATIA/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years in a production environment.
• 5+ years building wiring harnesses and creating assembly work instructions.
• Experience developing special assembly tools (formboards, jigs, fixtures).
• Proficiency in CAD (CATIA or SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with MES, EC systems, QMS, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Author and review manufacturing work instructions for electrical harness assemblies and installations.
• Design and implement assembly tools (formboards, jigs, fixtures) for effective manufacturing.
• Lead technicians during harness installations into vehicle portions.
• Troubleshoot and improve internal production for wire harness assembly.
• Coordinate new equipment purchases to support wire harness production.
• Provide technical manufacturing support to wire harness teams.
• Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
• Document new manufacturing processes or procedures.
• Implement Poka-Yoke methods.
• Act as SME on equipment/tools and coordinate calibration of fixtures and test equipment.
• Design test fixtures for improvements.
• Create cable routing layouts from harness knowledge.
• Coordinate tooling maintenance with vendors.
