Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a skilled manufacturing engineer to join our vehicle integration manufacturing engineering team in Marina, CA. The role supports assembly and installation of electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or 8+ years of directly relevant hands-on experience in a production environment in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in at least one CAD system.
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills while working with cross functional teams.
• Familiar with common drafting practices.
• Hands on electrical or mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process development, implementation, and continuous improvement under the guidance of senior team members.
• Identify safety issues on the manufacturing floor and assist in driving timely resolution with the appropriate teams.
• Assist with production planning and coordination, capacity planning, line design, production execution, and operations process development.
• Provide day-to-day production support to technicians and leads, helping remove blockers and escal ...
• Support the creation and review of manufacturing work instructions to ensure compliance with design requirements and company processes.
• Participate in the review and release of engineering definition, providing manufacturing feedback as needed.
• Support the design and implementation of shop aids and tooling to assist production.
• Assist with the disposition of non-conforming parts, root cause investigations, and corrective and/or preventive actions to reduce scrap and rework.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering during prototype, development, and first article manufacturing to support quality and manufacturability improvements.
