Amazon seeks an experienced Electrical System Development Engineer to pioneer electrical systems for robotics, automation, and material handling. You will own end-to-end development from requirements to fleet-wide deployment, balancing safety, performance, and cost.

The role blends system architecture, detailed electrical design, modeling, and hands-on troubleshooting, with emphasis on data-driven decisions and automation. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.
• Experience programming with Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• 3+ years designing and developing complex automation, robotics, or material handling systems.
• Experience developing electrical schematics or system architecture diagrams.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria from customer needs.
• Design electrical architectures integrating power distribution, controls, and safety.
• Translate architectures into modular, connectorized designs for deployment.
• Develop schematics in EPLAN and manage BOMs and engineering changes through PLM.
• Perform power-system analysis and sizing, including fault current and SCCR.
• Develop electrical models and integrate with system simulations for sizing.
• Define performance metrics and analyze data using Python and SQL.
• Automate electrical design, device placement, and documentation.
• Create engineering tools and automation, including AI-assisted development.
• Support verification, integration testing, and field deployment; lead design reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to team-wide standards.
