Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Engineer to help develop robotics and material handling systems for its operations. You will own hardware development from requirements through validation and deployment, partnering with internal teams and suppliers to ensure safe, reliable systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience developing electrical hardware for automation or robotics.
• Experience with ECAD like EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Experience with UL 508A, NFPA 79, NEC, IEC 60204-1, or IEC 81346.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements and specs.
• Develop modular electrical hardware for power distribution and control cabinets.
• Select and qualify industrial components; establish vendor standards.
• Evaluate manufacturability, cost, quality, and production readiness.
• Analyze components for sizing, derating, and thermal performance.
• Develop part libraries, schematics, and 3D layouts in EPLAN.
• Manage BOMs and engineering changes through PLM.
• Build prototypes and test setups for early validation.
• Plan and execute design verification and qualification testing.
• Own hardware reliability including FMEA and field analysis.
• Support installs, commissioning, and design reviews.
