Ford in Long Beach is seeking an experienced mechanical/automotive engineer to collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing teams. The role focuses on developing innovative vehicle systems, improving cost, mass, efficiency, and manufacturability, and advancing user experience.

The position requires 5+ years in automotive/EV fields, a relevant engineering degree, strong fundamentals, and CAD proficiency with Catia and 3D Experience. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in automotive or related field, EV preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals applied to vehicle systems and manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• CAD proficiency; Catia and 3D Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing to develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Develop and prototype concepts to improve cost, mass, efficiency, manufacturability, and user experience.
• Drive cross-functional architecture trades between subsystems to determine product direction.
• Identify and resolve geometrical incompatibilities between systems using first principles and 3D concepts.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and suppliers to procure and build physical properties.
