Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Supervisor for our lumber mill in Frisco City, AL. You will manage the plant electrical production function and supervise the electrical technicians to ensure safe, reliable operations.

You will oversee installation, maintenance, testing of equipment including PLCs, HMIs, motors, transformers and switchgear, and work with mill System Engineers on power distribution. This role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and achievement of reliability

Qualifications

• Electrical and E&I experience in industrial, manufacturing or military environments.
• Supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment.
• Experience with industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, control valves, and electrical distribution.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature.
• Experience reading and following electrical and mechanical schematics / blueprints.
• Experience with electrical reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, and Root Cause Failure Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical and support staff personnel, manage in a way that supports/enhances our PBM principles, fosters teamwork and produces results.
• Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as programmable logic controllers, HMI Systems, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, power distribution systems and associated switchgear in the plant.
• Work in conjunction with mill System Engineers in the electrical power and distribution throughout the facility.
• Work with the facility operations group to increase reliability while improving safe plant performance.
• Assure safe workplace practices are always followed and drive safety awareness through leading by example.
• Improve and lead the electrical organization which would include but not be limited to predictive, preventive and proactive electrical maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance electrical reliability while supervising the day-to-day activities of the mills electrical systems.
• Lead and support continuous improvement processes through decision making, employee involvement, systems and training.
• Meet and exceed objectives and metrics for safety, cost and productivity performance.
• Attend daily mill metrics meetings for all dept’s, participate in learning activities and drive change through precise execution of proven reliability techniques.
