Job summary

Amalgamated Sugar Company in Brighton, Colorado seeks a Colorado Licensed Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across our facilities. The role supports safe, reliable operations with a standard Mon–Thu schedule and potential overtime based on needs.

The position is salaried non-exempt with benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, 401(k), pension eligibility, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of Journeyman Electrician experience preferred.
• Industrial manufacturing, food processing, warehouse, or continuous-process manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with 3-phase 480-volt power distribution systems, motor starters and circuit breakers, VFDs, PLCs, and medium-voltage systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond to electrical issues and production interruptions safely and promptly.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot distribution systems, motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, and process equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Plan and execute electrical installations and modifications per codes and company standards.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety personnel to support reliable facility operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job description

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Colorado Licensed Journeyman Electrician to support our Colorado warehouse and logistics operations. This is a year-round, full-time position based in Brighton, Colorado. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations across our Colorado facilities.

Position Classification & Schedule

• Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Additional hours, including Fridays, weekends, holidays, emergency call-ins, and outage support, may be required based on operational needs.
• Eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

Compensation

This is a Salaried Non-Exempt position offering competitive compensation based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated abilities. The position is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

• Experience with:
• 3-phase 480-volt power distribution systems
• Motor starters and circuit breakers
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Medium-voltage systems (preferred)
• Motors, generators, and other industrial electrical equipment
• Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, megohm meters, and ohm meters.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Must provide a personal set of Journeyman Electrician hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work platforms.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas as required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment in an industrial environment.
