Job summary

Weyerhaeuser in Dodson, LA seeks an Electrical Superintendent to lead the electrical team, PLC engineers, and technicians on days, with flexibility for other shifts as needed. You will guide safety initiatives and drive uptime through preventive maintenance and strong planning.

The role reports to the Mill Manager and requires 5–8 years of supervisory experience, a technical degree, and proven leadership in safety, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years in a supervisory role in an industrial environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to lead a team to high safety performance.
• Experience leading safety initiatives and ensuring compliance.
• Proven ability to manage people and projects.
• High proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot inverters/frequency drives.
• Demonstrated capacity to drive continuous improvement and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical team, PLC engineers and technicians; mentor and develop staff.
• Plan, develop and manage mill electrical and process-control activities.
• Drive process improvements through performance evaluation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and NFPA 70E compliance.
• Utilize preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize uptime.
• Coordinate training resources to grow team skills and capacity.
• Manage maintenance resources and inventory with computer-based systems.
