Job summary
Interfor’s Baxley mill seeks an Electrical PLC & Controls Supervisor to lead electrical and automation efforts, troubleshoot complex controls, and guide a team of electricians.
You’ll develop PLC logic, modernize legacy systems (Allen-Bradley PLC-5 platforms), and collaborate with maintenance, operations, and planning to improve reliability.
This hands-on leadership role requires safety, quality, and efficiency focus, with occasional weekend or project work in a Monday–Friday schedule.
Qualifications
- PLC and industrial controls expertise.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC-5; Siemens exposure is a plus.
- Electrical fundamentals: VFDs, motors, instrumentation.
- Demonstrated leadership in a maintenance/engineering setting.
- Willingness for occasional weekend/project work and strong safety focus.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on PLC, HMI, controls, and automation programming and troubleshooting.
- Assess, upgrade, and modernize legacy control systems to improve reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of five electricians, prioritizing safety and quality.
- Write logic and design control systems for mill improvements and capital projects.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and planning to resolve issues and improve machine performance.
