Job summary

GMEA LLC in Houston seeks an Electrical Superintendent to supervise on-site electrical construction, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence while meeting project specs and codes. You will lead electricians and subcontractors, review blueprints, and coordinate with management and other trades to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities include enforcing NEC and OSHA standards, conducting site inspections, mentoring staff, and maintaining accurate reports.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical construction, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license (or equivalent).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and multiple tasks.
• Experience with commercial/industrial projects and scheduling.
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise daily electrical construction activities across job sites.
• Direct electricians, foremen, and subcontractors to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to guide installation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and OSHA safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce safety protocols.
• Coordinate with general contractors and project managers to resolve scheduling issues.
• Manage material procurement and labor tracking; report progress to management.
• Lead toolbox talks and mentor field staff and apprentices.
• Review subcontractor work, punch lists, and closeout docs.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
