Job summary

Miller Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Superintendent in Lakeland, FL to lead field teams and manage multiple projects within data center construction. The candidate will plan construction methods, supervise staff, and ensure safety and quality across schedules and subcontractors.

The role requires strong leadership, coordination with Project Managers, and the ability to resolve field issues while maintaining cost and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience on construction projects as an Electrical Superintendent or Electrical General Foreman.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, and the ability to supervise minor to mid-sized groups.
• Good organization, multi-tasking, leadership, and decision-making ability.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise activities determining the construction method, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and work schedule.
• Help train and manage other field staff.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the construction operation of multiple mid-sized projects simultaneously or a single large/hyper scale project.
• Create and maintain project schedules with the Project Manager; plan, monitor, and review critical path dates and milestones.
• Communicate site problems, conflicts, schedules, and quality issues to the Project Manager and owner.
• Resolve field construction problems.
• Maintain open communication between all subcontractors to support project activities and schedule.
• Monitor field staff and subcontractor compliance with safety program requirements; conduct weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Assist the Safety Department in incident investigations and follow-up.
• Understand subcontractors’ scopes; ensure schedules and quality meet contract requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager with subcontractor disputes, quality control, and schedule coordination.
• Work with the Project Manager and owner’s representatives to ensure work complies with drawings and specifications.
• Support the Project Manager in negotiating claims and changes.
• Provide input to Project Manager regarding cost and schedule forecasts.
• Assist with Change Order review.
• Perform project close-out and ensure punch lists are completed on time.
• Mentor Project Associates assigned to the project.
