Miller Electric Company in Tampa, FL is hiring a Site Safety Manager to oversee OSHA compliance on data center construction projects. The role involves hands-on interaction with field personnel and management daily, ensuring a safe workplace and leading safety initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a safety background with electrical contractor experience, strong writing skills, and the ability to train groups of 25–30. This position requires full-time work on site in Tampa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety or BCSP credential (CHST or STS-C).
• Minimum of 3 years overseeing electrical contractor scope of work on healthcare or data center projects.
• OSHA 30-hour certification within the past 3 years.
• Understanding of Workers’ Compensation.
• Strong technical writing ability.
• Ability to train groups of 25-30.
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
• Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with regulations, laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provides technical expertise to managers and supervisors in eliminating unsafe behaviors and hazards.
• Plans and conducts periodic and unscheduled safety surveys and inspections.
• Conduct hazard analyses of project operations.
• Assist in update and maintenance of the safety manual.
• Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks.
• Coordinate with operations to provide safety training and awareness.
• Work with personnel to assure safe placement and job assignment.
• Assist in maintaining accident record keeping.
• Provide technical assistance with investigation of accidents and incidents.
• Foster a team environment when advising on corrections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
