The Industrial General Superintendent oversees the successful implementation of electrical projects, including managing materials, labor, and equipment for Stryker's jobs throughout the Sarasota, Tampa, and Naples areas, traveling regularly between these locations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining high-quality standards.
As the General Superintendent, your responsibilities include:
- Cultivating strong relationships with clients and suppliers to position the company as the preferred electrical contractor.
- Reviewing project scopes and determining required labor and resources.
- Collaborating with the project team to prepare construction quantity takeoff material lists and oversee procurement.
- Reviewing design options and recommending optimal construction solutions.
- Creating job-specific installation and layout drawings prior to construction.
- Managing project-related issues and facilitating communication among team members.
- Providing guidance and support to field personnel for project execution.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Conducting regular project walks for quality control, productivity validation, and technician training.
- Assisting in scheduling labor and procuring materials, tools, and equipment.
- Completing job inspections and other assigned initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Approving all field labor to minimize unapplied time and ensure correct labor coding.
- Identifying and training potential General Foremen for future growth and advancement.
- Building jobs professionally to facilitate future opportunities.
- Displaying safety documentation as required and fulfilling health and safety requirements for managers and supervisors.
- Proficiency in company-used software including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
- Past managerial and leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
License/Certification:
- Valid Driver's License.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Professional communication skills with team members, clients, and contractors.
- Expertise in electrical systems and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and submittals.
- Experience with tenant finish-outs and ground-up projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of local codes, requirements, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications to ensure fully functioning systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Complete understanding of Industry Standard Installation Means and Methods.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move or lift more than 75 lbs.
- Occasional extended hours and overtime may be required.
- Walking and standing for extended periods.

Review Procedures:
- Evaluation after 90 days of employment.
