Job summary

Stanley Consultants invites a Student Intern in Electrical Substation to join our Des Moines, IA team on an onsite basis. You will begin by developing an understanding of substation design, including layouts, protection systems, grounding, and panel wiring, while coordinating with structural, civil, and transmission teams.

You must be enrolled in a BS EE program (ABET-accredited), with coursework in power systems, and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher; strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of substation design aspects.
• Assist with physical layout design, lightning protection, conduit and cable plans, grounding analysis, and schematic generation.
• Collaborate with design team across disciplines on multiple projects.
