Job summary

CESO, Inc. in Overland Park, KS is seeking a motivated Electrical Staff Designer II to join their team. You will support senior staff with basic design tasks, calculations, and documentation to meet project budgets and schedules.

The role emphasizes developing design concepts under supervision, collaborating with architects and contractors, and expanding skills in CAD tools and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from ABET-accredited college; 3+ years of relevant experience, or 5 years without a degree.
• FE exam completion and EIT certification with state licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design, codes, and industry standards; basic calculations and document production.

Responsibilities

• Communicate design requirements with internal/external teams to determine scope.
• Develop design approaches with oversight from senior staff.
• Create system layouts, drawings, schematics, and schedules using CAD tools.
• Model lighting, power systems, and telecommunication components; perform related calculations.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to determine equipment needs and procedures.
• Assist in preparing studies, plans, and specifications.
