Job summary

Hy-Tek Material Handling is seeking an Electrical Site Supervisor for installations nationwide. You will lead on-site setup, programming, and customer training for automated material handling systems. The role requires PLC troubleshooting, ladder logic, and the ability to interpret electrical drawings.

Travel is 100%, including some weekends and nights as needed. You will collaborate with the installation department and other teams to resolve issues quickly, ensure safety, and deliver reliable

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in mechanical or electrical field.
  • 2+ years in electronics field experience.
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components.
  • Knowledge of PLC programs; troubleshoot ladder logic and modify PLC as needed.
  • Interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve electrical-mechanical issues on automated material handling systems.
  • Perform repair and preventive maintenance on systems.

Job Description

Title: Electrical Site Supervisor

Department: Installation

Supervisor: Manager, Electrical Field Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to resolve electrical-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems.
  • Must be able to perform repair and preventive maintenance on systems.
  • Responsible for on-site set-up, programming, and customer training.
  • Must have experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) troubleshooting, debugging, and programming.
  • Usage of technical drawing to diagnose any mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for on-site training, set-up, and programming.
  • Responsible for touching base with customer on completed work.
  • Ensure you are touching base with other departments to reach resolution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
  • Associates degree from vocational school or college with focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
  • 2+ years of experience in the electronics field
  • Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components – photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers. and encoders.
  • Knowledge of PLC programs; ability to troubleshoot ladder logic and modify the PLC program as needed
  • Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
Working Conditions:
  • This is a 100% traveling position.
  • Some weekend/night work required as needed.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
  • Sitting in and/or driving a vehicle for a long period of time.
  • Working with computers for a long period of time.
  • Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
