Job summary

Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking an experienced Shop Manager to lead our electrical assembly and production operations in Houston, TX. You will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate schedules, and develop employees to ensure on-time, high-quality output while upholding safety standards.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in electrical assembly or manufacturing and a strong grasp of quality assurance and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in shop setting with coaching and development.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and direct production activities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of quality control principles and safety.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shop operations, plan, schedule, and direct production activities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop shop personnel with workload balance.
• Oversee assembly, wiring, testing, inspection and completion of products.
• Provide guidance and resolution of manufacturing challenges.
• Review work orders, BOMs, drawings, specs for accurate execution.
• Monitor schedules, WIP, labor, and resources; address delays.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, purchasing, and customers.
• Establish and improve quality control processes and docs.
• Investigate quality issues and lead corrective actions.
• Develop work instructions and manufacturing best practices.
• Manage inventory and procurement to support production.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, safe to use.
• Enforce safety policies and a clean, organized environment.
• Track KPIs for safety, quality, productivity, delivery.
