Job summary

Aggreko is seeking an Electrical Services Technician 2 based in Bakersfield, CA, with travel up to 75% to support field assignments and service centers. You will service low, medium, and high voltage gear, install and connect electrical components, and ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of formal technical training.
• 10+ years’ experience in installation, repair and maintenance of electrical switchgear including protection relays and meters.

Responsibilities

• Based out of Bakersfield, CA service center with up to 75% field travel.
• Work on low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, breakers, relays, motors, VFDs, transformers, and batteries.
• Install fixtures, wire conduits, motors and other electrical equipment; inspect circuits for shielding and grounding.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components.

What you'll do:

• You'll be based out of our Bakersfield, CA service center and can expect to work in the field with up to 75% travel.

• Specialize in working on both low, medium, and high voltage switchgear including breakers with relays, motor starters, VFD’s, load break switches, transformers, load banks, and batteries.

• Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.

• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

You are:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training

• Proven knowledge of the principles of electricity and electrical design

• 8+ years of formal technical training

• 10+ years’ experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical switchgear, this will include both low volt and medium voltage power distribution gear. Should have knowledge with protection relays and meters

• Positive, self- starter who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistent quality

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices

• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level

• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders

• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel and squat
