JLC Electrical Contractors LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Sales Consultant / Estimator to join our team in Wall Township, NJ. This is not an entry-level role, and the candidate must have hands-on electrical knowledge to evaluate projects, develop pricing, and turn opportunities into profitable jobs.

You will meet with residential and commercial customers for on-site consultations, build accurate proposals, and explain options clearly while staying current on market pricing and material

JLC Electrical Contractors is a locally owned and operated electrical contractor serving Monmouth and Ocean Counties since 2007. We specialize in residential, commercial, generator, service, renovation, and electrical upgrade projects.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Sales Consultant / Estimator to join our growing team.

This is not an entry-level sales position. We are looking for someone with substantial hands‑on electrical knowledge who understands what quality electrical work requires and can confidently evaluate a project, communicate with customers, develop accurate pricing, and help turn opportunities into profitable jobs.

The right person will be personable, knowledgeable, adaptable, organized, and comfortable representing JLC in customers’ homes, businesses, and on job sites.

What You’ll Do

• Meet with residential and commercial customers for on‑site consultations.
• Evaluate electrical projects and determine the appropriate scope of work.
• Develop accurate, professional proposals and pricing.
• Explain electrical recommendations and project options clearly to customers.
• Build trust with customers without using high‑pressure sales tactics.
• Identify additional electrical needs and opportunities while on site.
• Understand labor, material, equipment, permit, and subcontractor costs when developing pricing.
• Stay aware of current market pricing and material‑cost changes that affect electrical projects.
• Understand how changes in commodities and materials—such as copper, aluminum, wire, conduit, switchgear, panels, breakers, and other electrical equipment—can affect job costs.
• Adjust quickly as product availability, lead times, manufacturer pricing, and market conditions change.
• Work closely with ownership, office staff, technicians, vendors, and project teams to ensure what is sold can be executed properly.
• Review project details carefully before proposals are presented to customers.
• Follow up on outstanding proposals and maintain relationships with prospective customers.
• Help ensure projects are sold at pricing that reflects the quality of work JLC provides.

The Person Who Will Do Well Here

You may be a great fit if you are the electrician who can walk onto a property and quickly understand what needs to be done, what it will take to do it correctly, what materials will be required, and what the project should realistically cost.

You should also be someone customers naturally feel comfortable talking to. We want a person who can combine electrical expertise with strong communication and sales ability—not someone simply reading prices from a price book.

Electrical material and labor costs change. A strong candidate understands that yesterday's pricing is not always today's pricing and knows how to stay current, ask the right questions, and protect the company from underpricing work.
