Job description

We’re partnering with a well-established company with 70+ years of experience supporting commercial, industrial, and utility projects throughout the region. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Mid-Level Electrical Estimator to support an active and expanding pipeline. This is a strong opportunity for an estimator who knows the electrical trade, values accuracy and accountability, and is looking for long-term stability with a respected contractor (not a revolving-door environment).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Prepare detailed and competitive electrical estimates across plan/spec, design-build, and service work
  • Perform take-offs for power distribution, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, and controls
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for scope, risk, and constructability
  • Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Develop bid proposals, alternates, and value engineering options
  • Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed
  • Collaborate closely with senior estimators, project managers, and engineering teams
  • Support smooth handoff from estimating to project execution
  • Track historical cost data to support future bids
What They’re Looking For
  • 8+ years of electrical estimating experience (commercial / industrial / institutional)
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and installation methods
  • Hands-on experience with Accubid, Trimble, ConEst, or similar estimating software
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Stable work history preferred — career progression and reasonable moves are welcomed
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (experience matters most)
Logistics & Benefits
  • 100% onsite role in NJ (with site visits as needed)
  • Early start schedule (7:00–7:30am; flexibility to 8:00am)
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, life insurance
  • 2 weeks PTO + holidays
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Background check required
