Job summary

Apogee Consulting Group, an established Architecture and Engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems for healthcare and commercial projects. You will develop high-quality construction documents and lead a team of designers, ensuring code-compliant and reliable solutions.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MEP, and Trace 3D.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer with current PE license.
• Healthcare design experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited).
• LEED/Green Globes credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal and office buildings.
• Directs designers and ensures conformance to specs and codes.
• Develop construction documents and specifications.
• Coordinate lighting control systems with energy-efficient programs.
• Perform field investigations and site visits; ensure NFPA/NEC compliance.
• Lead as Engineer of Record and mentor junior designers.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to design and coordinate building electrical systems while developing high-quality construction documents. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and delivering practical, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. Success in this role requires a dedication to excellence, continuous learning, and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal, and office buildings with backup and emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptable power supplies, and automatic transfer switches.
• Designs and directs designers in creating building designs.
• Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and requirements.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
• Designs the modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordinates with other design professionals.
• Designs lighting control systems that comply with LEED, Energy Star, and similar energy-efficient programs.
• Make equipment and fixture selections
• Perform field investigations and site visits
• Serves as Engineer of Record with directing and mentoring designers
• Develop construction documents and specifications
• Follows the NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards, and recommended practices.
• Healthcare experience is required
• Experience: minimum 8 years’ related experience as a licensed professional
• Computer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Current PE License (required)
• NCEES Registration
• Licensed in at least one U.S. state
• LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials (Preferred)

Travel:

up to 20% depending on project

Salary Range: $110-160,000

Work Environment

This position will be in the office in an open office work environment with flexibility
