Job summary

ABB Inc. in Mebane, NC is seeking a Test Engineer to prototype and test electrical distribution products. You will coordinate test projects, assemble test objects, and safely perform high voltage and high current tests.

The role requires a 2-year electrical/electronic technology degree and up to 2 years of related experience, with travel to domestic and international sites. This onsite position sits in the R&D Department/Local Unit Lead structure.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in electrical engineering and/or testing environment.
• Experience and understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety.
• Experience with meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, test, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with low voltage and medium voltage switchgear.
• Position requires domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Material handling and coordination for test projects.
• Assembly and modifications of test objects.
• Safely execute high voltage and high current testing.
• Understand and verify test results.
• Identify and help create new test equipment and fixtures to improve efficiency of testing.
• Maintain existing test equipment.
