Job summary

ABB in Mebane, NC is seeking a tester/engineer to prototype and test electrical distribution products. You will assemble, instrument, and evaluate switchgear, performing high voltage/high current tests and ensuring safety and compliance. Travel may be required for domestic and international assignments.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in electrical engineering and/or testing environment.
• Experience and understanding of electrical systems and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and test electrical distribution products.
• Prototype will include material handling, assembly, and instrumentation of switchgear.
• Testing will include temperature rise, dielectric, environmental and endurance tests.
• Material handling and coordination for test projects; assembly and modification of test objects.
• Safely execute high voltage and high current testing; verify test results.
