Job summary

IEM is seeking a Test & Inspection Supervisor to lead daily testing and inspection activities at our San Antonio site. You will manage Test Technicians and Inspectors, ensure UL and customer specifications are met, and drive continuous improvement across QA and manufacturing processes.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of electrical testing, and the ability to coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Materials teams.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or certification or 5 years’ experience in manufacturing field.
• At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with multiple functions in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Experience with Measuring and Test Equipment is desirable.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Lean Manufacturing and process improvement experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, NFPA, UL, and CSA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of Test Technicians and Inspectors across product lines.
• Align testing and inspection tasks with production schedules and priorities.
• Ensure adherence to UL standards, customer specs, electrical testing requirements, and company policies.
• Oversee testing processes: hipot, megger, torque checks, functional testing, and inspections.
• Verify testing logs, data sheets, and documentation for accuracy.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for test or quality issues.
• Train and mentor staff on test procedures, safety, and equipment usage.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Project Management and Materials to resolve issues.
• Maintain test equipment readiness including calibration and safety checks.
• Monitor KPIs: first-pass yield, throughput, retest rates, downtime.
• Escalate safety, quality, and equipment issues to Test and Inspection Manager.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through data collection and process reviews.
• Manage attendance and uphold company policies.
