Job summary

DSC Dredge in Reserve, LA, seeks an Electrical Quality Assurance Specialist to own quality across electrical systems—from incoming switchgear to final testing—ensuring compliance with NEC, NETA, IEEE, and contract requirements. You will collaborate with the Electrical Department, Engineering, and customers to validate installations up to 13.8kV.

The role involves inspecting equipment, testing insulation resistance, hi-pot, documenting findings, and coordinating corrective actions.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of quality assurance or electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NETA, IEEE, and high-voltage systems up to 24–12k volts.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings; experience with electrical test instruments.
• Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out, arc flash, and electrical safety procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel from Reserve, LA to Poplarville, MS as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electrical equipment and systems for conformance with drawings, schematics, and NEC.
• Verify materials, connections, grounding, lugs, and torque; perform insulation resistance and hi-pot tests.
• Conduct electrical testing (hi-pot, VLF) ahead of final product release and coordinate NCRs.
• Lead internal quality checks during dredge assembly and final testing with Engineering teams.
• Review electrical drawings and one-line diagrams for installation conformance.
• Document malfunctions, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain inspection records.
• Produce detailed inspection reports and liaise with customer auditors and vendors.
