Job summary

Matrix Project Services, based in Emporia, VA, seeks a QA/QC Electrical Inspector to inspect and verify electrical work per codes and project specs. You will witness ITPs, monitor installations, and report non-conformities while supporting safety and project quality objectives.

The role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with major industry codes, and the ability to maintain progressive documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ minimum experience in a specific craft or working under a formal Quality Management System.
• 3 years' electrical experience preferred.
• ACI certification preferred; other discipline-specific inspection processes may be considered.
• Familiar with ASME Sec VIII, Sec IX, B31.1, B31.3, API 650/653, 1104 Codes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and verify electrical work in compliance with applicable codes and specs.
• Witness and hold point inspections of approved ITPs and facility systems.
• Report non-conformities and disposition follow-up on corrective actions.
• Monitor cables, cable tray routing, terminations, and electrical equipment installations.
• Maintain documentation progressively and produce weekly surveillance reports.
• Provide technical advice in project meetings to resolve quality/construction issues.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
