Job summary

Alterman, Inc. seeks a Project Manager responsible for profit and loss across project contracts and customer accounts. The role emphasizes safe, high-quality, cost-effective execution while driving revenue growth and client satisfaction.

Key duties include leading kickoff meetings, coordinating with estimating and support groups, managing job costs, scheduling and purchasing, and preparing change orders and closeout documents. Some travel and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient with or able to learn Primavera, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite, accounting software, estimating software, and other required systems and software.
• Able to read and interpret all contract documents, plans, specifications, and requirements.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to capitalize on project opportunities.
• Able to maintain working knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, contract and specification language, and bidding methods.
• Possesses and maintains knowledge of the National Electric Code, electrical engineering fundamentals, purchasing and buying processes, and accounting concepts.
• Able to complete continuous education courses and trainings as required.
• Office environment with some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Own accounts and ensure long-term customer satisfaction, opportunities, and revenue growth.
• Evaluate bidding, material buyouts, and negotiating opportunities.
• Maintain effective communications with Alterman personnel.
• Communicate with other departments for cross selling opportunities.
• Inform management of significant problems with recommended solutions.
• Lead project planning and kickoff meetings with estimators and support groups.
• Prepare breakdowns of estimates and reviews of plans/specifications.
• Manage project startup procedures and job cost entries.
• Schedule construction activities, material releases, labor, and cash flow.
• Prepare and review change orders, quotations, and bills of materials.
• Coordinate with Purchasing for material procurement and delivery.
• Lead project close out procedures and final billing.
