Job summary

Alterman, Inc. is seeking a Project Designer to assist on assigned projects, working closely with Project Managers and field supervision to ensure successful completion. The role covers design, pre-planning for pre-fabrication, and related administrative tasks as directed by the Installation Planning Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong collaboration and fast-paced environment adaptability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for field and office coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, plans, specs, and requirements.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with NEC and local/state electrical codes.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Procore and related software.

Responsibilities

• Designs and coordinates project elements with PMs and field supervision.
• Pre-plans for pre-fabrication and handles administrative paperwork as assigned.
• Coordinates with contractors/subcontractors to develop schedules.
• Creates BOMs, build sheets, and equipment directories.
• Assists in document control, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
• Ensures safety compliance and reports violations as needed.
