Job summary

Lyons Electric Company seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead electrical construction and design-build projects in Northwest Indiana. You will plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate with field personnel and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and financial oversight, with responsibility for project profitability and client satisfaction across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of related experience in electrical industry.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred; Master's a plus.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation; familiarity with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive the project's overall flow from inception to completion.
• Review scope from estimating; attend walk-throughs and turnovers.
• Ensure project document control including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and correspondence.
• Coordinate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or designers to resolve issues.
• Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction activities to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
• Inspect projects to ensure compliance with building and safety codes and regulations.
• Select subs and equipment suppliers with input from engineering, estimating and purchasing.
• Create schedule of values and billing formats as required by contract documents.
• Create project schedule showing completion and delivery dates; integrate into manpower schedule; understand notice requirements.
• Request purchase orders for major equipment and subs; coordinate delivery notices.
• Assist field personnel in closeout and obtaining as-builts; request CAD from engineering.
• Escalate critical issues to Division Manager/Project Executive with recommendations.
