Job summary

Lyons Electric, a Potawatomi Ventures subsidiary, is seeking an electrical estimator with strong detail orientation to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents, coordinate with vendors, and submit bid proposals.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems, market pricing, and labor and material costs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to analyze blueprints, specs and project documents to develop cost estimates.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and market pricing.
• Experience with vendor/subcontractor pricing and bid submission.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Contact vendors and subcontractors for pricing and bids
• Prepare and submit bid proposals including labor, materials, and time requirements
• Assist in calculating labor, materials, and equipment costs
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate scope and pricing
• Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions
• Maintain knowledge of market trends, labor rates, and material costs
• Track and document estimation activities and maintain historical cost data
• Identify potential cost risks and provide value engineering options
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join Lyons Electric, a subsidiary company of Potawatomi Ventures. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry pricing.

• Contact vendors and subcontractors for pricing and bids
• Prepare and submit bid proposals, including labor, materials, and time requirements.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, labor rates, and material costs.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required, Certification from respected electrical program. Bachelor's or associate degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
