Job summary

Ilocatum is seeking an Electrical Project Manager in Newtown, CT to lead a portfolio of complex electrical construction projects. You will provide on-site leadership, manage multi-project activities, and align execution with strategic objectives.

The role demands 7+ years in PM within electrical construction, a CT electrician license, strong leadership, and proven budgeting and vendor negotiation experience. Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a project management role within electrical construction.
• CT journeyman or master electrician license.
• Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills across organization levels.
• Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
• Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending changes.
• Track record of leading projects to on-time, on-budget completion.
• Experience managing project teams of varying sizes, including internal and external resources.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project financial projections and cost to complete.
• Identify scope creep and mitigate risk and exposure.
• Assemble design errors and change orders and communicate to the team.
• Sell project change orders and protect project margin.
• Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases.
• Coordinate with superintendent and foreman on labor hours and targets.
• Procure resources to meet objectives within planned timeframes.
• Manage day-to-day activities and report to VP of Construction.
• Provide status reporting on milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues.
• Act as internal quality control and participate in issue resolution.
• Understand specs and ensure team understands requirements.
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors and draft budget proposals.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise project team and conduct reviews.
