Responsibilities
- Be versed in modern project management techniques within complex, multi-functional organizations; have an understanding of engineering, design, procurement, contracting, safety, construction, and commissioning.
- Establish strong relationships with clients and communicate effectively with both technical and management personnel.
- Create and maintain best practices to identify and incorporate cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Develop, manage, and report on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage assigned work from start to closeout, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for management on progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Conduct forensic analysis of existing building systems to improve facility performance.
- Research new technologies and systems, studying their feasibility for integration into building projects.
- Serve as the single point of contact for project development and delivery.
- Vendor management and contract compliance:
- Oversee vendor performance and conduct reviews.
- Review and approve vendor scope of work and site/building plans.
- Manage vendor selection, contracting, and integration with internal teams.
- Facilitate client/sponsor decision-making to drive solutions and manage change.
- Apply negotiation strategies and influence to identify options and recommend solutions.
- Ensure compliance with audit recommendations and results.
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
- Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and other project approval documents.
- Collaborate with contractors to establish CPM baseline schedules.
- Facilitate, run, and document project meetings, including OAC meetings.
- Review and validate project progress, contractor pay applications, and invoices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of construction and project management experience across various facilities (mission-critical, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of construction and building systems.
- Knowledge of pre-design/pre-construction processes, contract management, project delivery methods, and building systems/components.
- Experience developing reports for diverse audiences.
- Experience in client-facing roles.
- Ability to understand technical construction programs and communicate progress effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's in Construction Management.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Active memberships in PMI, CCMA, or similar organizations.
- PMP or CCM certifications.
- Background in data center development and construction.
- Experience in design, testing, and commissioning is a plus.
