Job summary

Star Service, a Fidelity Building Services Group company, is seeking an Electrical Project Estimator to join our Houston team. You will develop estimates for commercial, industrial, and municipal electrical projects, coordinating with vendors and owners to ensure accurate, timely bids.

Responsibilities include bid management, pre-bid meetings, site condition verification, and maintaining comprehensive proposal records.

Qualifications

5+ years of preparing estimates and proposals for commercial, industrial, and municipal electrical projects using computerized estimation and digital takeoff software.
Ability to provide a complete commercial construction estimate and proposal for either plan/spec or design/build projects.
Knowledgeable with reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and pricing documentation to prepare timely labor and cost estimates.
Ability to survey electrical systems, interpret drawings, equipment and job conditions.
Ability to obtain quotes from vendors on materials, equipment and lead times.
Ability to coordinate mechanical construction with other building trades.
Ability to work under tight deadlines with multitasking.
Detail oriented with organizational time management skills.
Proficient in MS Word/Excel/Outlook with good communication and writing abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop preliminary and definitive estimates and proposals for labor, materials and equipment for electrical projects.
Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing for compliance with specifications and drawings.
Attend pre-bid meetings, verify site conditions and interface with Owners, Developers and General Contractors.
Manage the bid preparation and written proposal process from start to finish.
Maintain records of all documents and data to back up estimates and proposals.
Assist and prioritize work with sales engineers, project managers and construction teams.
Conduct jobsite walks as needed and build a backlog of quotes to meet booking goals.
Communicate professionally with internal and external customers; maintain rapport with field, office and management.
Order equipment and materials as required.
