Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water and Wastewater team in Florida, with opportunities in Tampa or Jacksonville. You will contribute to planning, design and implementation of critical water and wastewater projects across Florida, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers and project managers.

You will design power distribution, MCCs, SCADA, and control systems, perform studies, prepare technical reports, and support construction.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in Florida, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 4–7 years of progressive electrical engineering experience, preferably in municipal water/wastewater or related infrastructure.
• Experience designing electrical systems for water/wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise in electrical and controls challenges.
• Design electrical power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports through all design phases.
• Perform power system studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated engineering solutions.
• Support projects during construction through RFIs, submittals, site visits, and coordination with contractors/clients.
• Conduct technical and quality reviews of deliverables.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource management.
• Mentor junior staff and promote continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Support business development and maintain client relationships.
