Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Water and Wastewater team in Florida, with options for Tampa or Jacksonville offices. You will contribute to planning, design, and implementation of critical water and infrastructure projects serving communities throughout Florida and beyond.

Work with a multidisciplinary team focused on technical excellence, innovation, and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 1–3 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in municipal water/wastewater facilities or related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation, analysis, and resolution of electrical and controls engineering challenges.
• Assist design of electrical power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA for water/wastewater facilities.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, cost estimates, and technical reports through all design phases.
• Support power system studies including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and load flow analyses.
• Coordinate between multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Assist during construction through RFIs, submittals, and field observations.
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with senior staff.
