Job summary

HNTB Corporation in the United States seeks a Project Engineer to join its Electrical Section. You will design electrical systems for highway, municipal, bridge, transit, and airport projects and produce design calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications, collaborating with the project manager.

The role may mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver complex projects, with locations in Chicago, IL; Kansas City, MO; and Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; advanced degrees preferred.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering adds strong qualification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, and manage schedule/budget.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposals.
• Assist with development of scope of work and level of effort within discipline.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
• Guide and mentor team to overall project objectives.
• Coordinate technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
