Job summary

ISS in Houston, Texas is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to lead design and development of electrical systems. You will collaborate with customers and a multidisciplinary team to deliver solutions that meet specifications, budgets, and schedules.

The role covers design of VFD systems, motor controls, and power distribution, plus creating diagrams, BOMs, and technical reports. Travel 20–30% for commissioning and field support with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
PE license is advantageous.
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial power systems.
Experience in designing VFD systems, motor controls, and power distribution equipment.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design and documentation.

Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics for VFD systems, motor controls, and switchgear.
Develop single-line/three-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Create BOMs and technical documentation for projects.
Perform short-circuit and arc-flash studies per IEEE/NFPA standards.
Provide technical support to production, QA, and field service teams.
Travel domestically and internationally (20–30%) for commissioning and field guidance.
