Job summary

Tri-City Electrical Contractors, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer 1 to assist in planning, development, and coordination of on-site electrical construction for large projects. This key technical role may involve multiple projects of varying size and complexity.

You will develop coordination and electrical layout drawings, quote change orders with Estimating, review shop drawings for contract compliance, and ensure engineering activities align with schedules and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in electrical system design, engineering, or installation.
• Knowledge of electrical system design and operation.
• Familiarity with construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
• Experience with contract documents (drawings, subcontracts, specs, change orders).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and NEC/Local codes.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Able to read/write English at a 12th-grade level.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Develop coordination and electrical layout drawings.
• Coordinate with Estimating to quote change orders and with accounting for accurate job information.
• Review shop drawings for contract compliance.
• Ensure project engineering activities meet requirements and schedule.
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design.
• Develop and administer standard procedures and work documents.
• Represent the company in meetings with A/E, client, and project management.
• Communicate with on-site departments to resolve problems.
• Keep the project on schedule while following safety and quality guidelines.
