Your Opportunity
The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Electrical Project Designer/Engineer performs technical duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager. You will understand and identify project requirements and perform independent technical work on both basic and advanced tasks within your discipline. You will guide Designers in completing their duties. The role involves executing and ensuring quality throughout the design process to meet client needs and expectations. Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced systems designs within your discipline with limited supervision.
- Delegate tasks to project designers as appropriate.
- Prepare project deliverables (drawings, specifications, reports, etc.) according to the client’s scope of work and Stantec's proposal.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical equipment.
- Coordinate with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into the design.
- Follow Stantec’s quality management process; review project deliverables before submission to QA/QC reviewers.
- Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports and punch lists, attend project meetings, and perform other construction administration tasks.
- Assist the Senior Project Engineer with project-related tasks.
- Serve as the electrical lead on projects as directed by the Project Manager.
- Participate in the data center engineering/professional community for personal knowledge and growth (e.g., attend meetings, seminars, conferences, or write articles for trade magazines).
- Support staff education, training, and development initiatives.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Advanced knowledge of engineering practices, concepts, principles, codes, and standards in your discipline; basic knowledge of other disciplines.
- Ability to conceptualize building systems within your discipline, including interactions with other components.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nomenclature, design techniques, materials, system components, construction techniques, and related engineering systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, specifications, procedures, and regulations.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Working knowledge or proficiency in power systems software (e.g., SKM) and power cable ampacity calculation software (e.g., CYME CYMCAP) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey scope and coordination details to clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in writing detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities reliably.
Education and Experience
- An accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years related industry experience; data center experience is preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant professional certification is preferred.

Additional Information
- Salary Range: $97,100 - $140,800, based on experience, education, and location.
- Location-specific pay ranges apply for CO, HI, MD, and IL.
- Note: Final compensation may vary; some roles are bonus eligible.
