HVP was founded by clinicians, for clinicians, to provide specialized supported services to meet the needs of cardiovascular care, including managed care contracting, facility development and operations, revenue cycle management, and marketing to both patients and referral partners.

Role Summary
The Director of ASC Operations (“Director”) will drive meaningful impact and design and deliver value creation initiatives that will transform the practices HVP serves while adding substantial capabilities and resources to the HVP platform. More specifically, the Director will manage the design, development and operations of ambulatory surgery centers (“ASC”s) across HVP’s growing portfolio of practices, with P&L responsibility for the operations and teams incorporated in those facilities. Additionally, in the capacity of leader of a multi-site portfolio of ASCs, the Director will also lead platform-wide initiatives in procurement and shared clinical competencies across partner practices. Ultimately, as HVP lays the foundation for its partner practices and associated outpatient facilities towards value-based care, the Director will play a critical role in shaping HVP’s clinical and operating data environment and performance nationally.
Developing teams and reinforcing a common culture of excellence and service across HVP are critical outcomes for the Director. The Director will be responsible for serving the various Administrators at ASCs partnered with HVP.
The Director reports to HVP’s COO and will have up to 8 direct reports (ASC Administrators). Key interdependencies include the partner physicians, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Clinical Operations, Practice and ASC Administrators, Vice President of Corporate Development, and the CFO.
HVP currently is partnered with seven practices across five states: Oklahoma (Oklahoma City), Colorado (CO Springs), Illinois (SE Chicago), Missouri (St. Louis) and Texas (Dallas and Houston areas), with several discussions underway to add to the platform in new markets and to expand existing practices. HVP currently supports the management of two ASCs and is nearing the completion of developing a third.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the design, build, and opening of portfolio of ASCs
- Responsible for all aspects of de novo ASC development – from site selection through to first patient - and conversions of existing OBLs to accredited ASC facilities
- Lead credentialing and accreditation execution
- Play critical role in hiring ASC leadership and staff on behalf of physician partnerships and HVP
- Drive operational performance of ASCs through rigorous and attentive management process
- Lead the hiring, performance and management support of ASC Administrators
- Define and implement operating protocols and key performance indicators (KPIs) to reinforce ASC performance and proactively identify opportunities for intervention; coordinate with HVP Finance and Revenue Cycle Management for desired reporting output
- Set and meet/exceed annual budgets and operating plans for each ASC
- Create and implement community of practice for ASC Administrators to collaborate, support, and ensure compliance
- Manage quarterly symposium and other regular communications for and with ASC leadership across practices and facilities
- Liaise with trade associations and related conferences on behalf of HVP
- Lead materials management platform across HVP
- Implement and manage platform for inventory management at all HVP ASCs
- Work with HVP Finance, Operations, and physician partners to create an aggregated set of terms and conditions for both capital equipment investments and shared and high-volume consumables
- Lead relationship management with primary OEMs nationwide
- Serve as active member of HVP organizational leadership
- Participates and is active leader in developing operational excellence across all of HVP’s practices
- Contributes to annual strategic, financial, and operating planning
Other Responsibilities
- Lead integrations and local project management on de novo or facility development
- Ensure compliance in affiliated practices with all HVP policies, including compliance programs and training
- Other duties as assigned by the COO

- Must be able to read and comprehend all related financial reports, spread sheets and budgetary information and be able to translate this information into actionable items
- Must exhibit sound decision-making skills; particularly under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; including the establishment and adherence to related timelines and budgets
- Ability to be an effective communicator who can lead and or be an active participant in related committees
- Knowledge of regulatory and credentialing requirements in cardiovascular and ASC delivery models, including but not limited to AAAHC, HIPAA, OSHA and similar compliance guidelines and regulations
Education And Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, economics, finance, or psychology
- Master’s degree preferred, in business administration or healthcare administration
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in ASC/OBL operations, preferably in cardiovascular service line
- Proven, progressive management role(s) serving in partnerships with physicians and their practice or management of ancillary businesses and facilities
- Experience working directly and building trusting relationships with physicians
- Demonstrated experience in developing and in improving the performance of teams.
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Familiarity and compliance with healthcare regulations and management
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Ability to manage multiple work streams, projects, tasks and goals
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability occasionally to lift files, office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. This position is primarily a desk position, requiring sitting longer hours at the computer typing on a keyboard.
Days/Hours: This is a full-time position, the schedule of which is determined by the Supervisor. Can work varying or longer schedules, if needs require.
Dress attire required: Determined by MSO management.
Travel: Travel will be required to affiliated physician practices in region. HVP’s executive team is headquartered outside Chicago, IL and attendance at company-wide meetings is expected at least once per quarter.
