Job summary

Southland Industries in Texas seeks a Project Engineer to support the project team on smaller, less complex projects. You will assist with cost reporting, change orders, and procurement, ensuring accuracy and timely tracking.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, basic ERP and CAD skills, and knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design. You will read mechanical drawings and communicate clearly with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Basic ERP skills to inquire, review and print job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CAD and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed
