Job summary

Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for a variety of projects, from educational to municipal facilities. You will develop construction documents, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in project meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, an electrical or technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 0–8 years of experience in an engineering consulting firm or a related electrical design environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit, or familiarity with similar design software.
• Knowledge of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power generation, and NEC requirements.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, electrical standards, and design manuals.
• Demonstrated electrical design experience and the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical engineering solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Initiative, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to develop leadership skills and contribute to the growth and success of the team.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical engineering for new construction and renovation projects across diverse facilities.
• Develop construction documents, contract drawings, field investigations, and shop drawings; prepare technical reports; participate in meetings.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, and other engineers to develop integrated building solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, equipment vendors, and other stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Apply technical knowledge to develop safe, reliable electrical systems.
• Work independently while collaborating with team members and developing leadership skills.
