Job summary

IMEG in Rock Island, IL or Des Moines, IA seeks an Electrical Project Designer to design power distribution, lighting, and specialty electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver energy-efficient solutions for clients in industrial, government and data center sectors.

You will use AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and AGi32 to create code-compliant designs while mentoring junior staff and building client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• 3 years min in building design consulting; 4 years preferred.
• Proficiency with design techniques for electrical plans and specs.
• Knowledge of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for electrical systems and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate, verify, schedule and document design aspects.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Perform electrical calculations, BIM coordination, and progress submittals.
• Support project management with design deliverables.
