Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Designer in Rock Island, IL or Des Moines, IA to design power distribution, lighting, and specialty electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects. You will use AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and AGi32 to deliver code‑compliant, reliable designs while mentoring junior staff and building client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 3–4 years in building design consulting; BIM/engineering education preferred with 7–8 years experience.
• Proficiency with electrical design techniques and specs.
• Strong knowledge of circuit theory, electromagnetism, and power systems.
• Proficient with industry standard software: AutoCAD, Revit, SKM/PowerTools, AGI tools.
• Experience with IES standards and energy compliance tools (ComCheck).
• Ability to mentor staff and communicate clearly.
• Excellent MS Office skills and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for electrical systems and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate, verify, schedule, and document design aspects.
• Develop client relationships and support project management.
• Perform electrical calculations, system design, equipment selection, and reporting.
• Coordinate BIM/CAD work and progress submissions.
• Support Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects and energy performance goals.
