Job summary

IMEG, an employee-owned firm, seeks an Electrical Project Designer in Kansas City, MO. You will lead electrical design for healthcare and MEP projects, collaborating with engineers and clients to deliver efficient building systems.

You will mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and support project execution from design through construction. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and innovative energy-efficient solutions in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years minimum in building design consulting, 4 preferred
• Engineering In Training (EIT) certification preferred
• Associates degree/certificate in BIM or Engineering with 7+ years experience
• Experience with electrical-system design for buildings and code compliance

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical-system analysis and design for low- to moderate-complexity projects.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and build professional relationships.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and design-decision documentation.
• Analyze problems with senior staff to develop practical solutions.
• Conduct in-process reviews and enforce quality-control processes.
• Stay current on electrical-engineering trends and best practices.
• Identify and mitigate safety risks in electrical designs.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and PMs to deliver integrated solutions.
• Oversee bids and construction-administration phases.
• Mentor less experienced staff.
