Job summary

SMC is seeking an electronics hardware engineer to design, evaluate, and document electronic systems. You will interpret customer requirements, read schematics, and develop circuits while mentoring others. Travel for training or customer support is anticipated.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, data-driven analysis, and collaboration across internal and external teams to advance product development and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or technical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Firm understanding of product development processes and documentation.
• Proficiency with CAD software and CAE tools.
• Experience with FMEA and tolerance analysis.
• Strong ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into electrical designs and documentation.
• Evaluate products to identify failures and propose countermeasures.
• Read/interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics and create new ones.
• Create and troubleshoot electrical circuits and product communication protocols.
• Input data into CMS with CAD models, BOMs, and assembly docs.
• Lead or participate in teams to meet corporate directives.
