Job summary

Loenbro is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support procurement for electrical projects, sourcing materials and equipment, and ensuring cost-effective, timely deliveries. This role emphasizes supplier relationships, negotiation, and supply-chain efficiency.

You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, monitor inventory, and maintain detailed procurement records. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with strong negotiation and software skills and a commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a minimum of ten years purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role in electrical or construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Vendor selection: identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and establish relationships.
• Purchasing: place orders for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies to meet project requirements.
• Inventory management: maintain records, track usage, replenish stock to prevent shortages.
• Cost control: monitor pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, implement cost-saving strategies.
• Quality assurance: ensure purchased materials meet required standards and specs.
• Documentation: maintain records of procurement activities, purchase orders, invoices, vendor contracts.
• Communication: coordinate with project managers, engineers and team members on procurement needs.
